EXECUTIVE PASTOR/DIRECTOR

New Life Presbyterian Church

As New Life Presbyterian Church (PCA), located in the heart of beautiful North San Diego County, continues to grow, it is now looking to add a full-time Executive Pastor/Director to its leadership team.

New Life’s multi-generational community of 650-750 regular attenders in its two morning worship services, is currently led by a team of four full-time pastors, six part-time ministry personnel, a part-time certified public accountant, a full-time secretary and a full-time facilities director. The officers of the church include ten Ruling Elders, five Teaching Elders and twenty-two Deacons. New Life is a training ground for a large number of interns enrolled at nearby Westminster Seminary California. New Life is characterized by joyful worship combining the best of historic and contemporary liturgical elements, an evangelistic zeal for the spread of the gospel, and rich Reformed theology communicated in ways accessible and profitable to believers and unbelievers alike.

The Executive Pastor/Director will work closely with and report to the Senior Pastor. The primary responsibility of the Executive Pastor/Director will be to strategically execute the five-year vision blueprint of New Life by developing that blueprint into a five-year strategic plan, and implementing the structure to accomplish the plan. This individual will be called to manage the staff in a way that reflects the culture of New Life that includes the following practices and priorities: (a) consensus-building rather than traditional top-down directives; (b) communicating in a gracious and friendly manner at all times; (c) fostering a team-based environment; (d) giving priority to unity over efficiency; and (e) as a servant leader, enabling each staff member to do his or her job effectively and with excellence.
An Executive Pastor must be a Teaching Elder in good standing in the PCA. An Executive Director must be a layperson whose theological views are in accord with the Westminster Standards.
